Statutory redundancy pay and unfair dismissal awards are going to get higher
Compensation limits for dismissals occurring on or after 6 April 2024 will increase. The limit on a week’s pay will increase from £643 to £700 for statutory redundancy pay calculations and unfair dismissal basic awards. The limit on the maximum unfair dismissal compensatory award will increase from £105,707 to £115,115. We will also see an 8.9% increase (from £7,836 to £8,533) for the minimum basic award which can be made in cases where a dismissal is unfair by virtue of reasons relating to health and safety, being an employee representative, being a trade union representative or an occupational pension trustee.
