Training

Employment law is constantly changing and evolving. To help our clients keep up to date and do things correctly, we offer a range of training opportunities. We have standard training programmes which we can roll out for you straight away. We can also customise our training to suit your individual requirements. We can link it in with your internal policies and procedures and ways of doing things and any areas of concern you may have. That way, we can ensure the training is directly relevant to your business and deals with the practical, day to day issues that you have come up.

We tend to direct our training to line managers, HR professionals and anyone else who has HR responsibilities such as for recruitment (interviewers), equality and diversity. We run half day and full day sessions, typically for eight to ten delegates at a time. Our training style is informal and interactive. We like everyone to participate fully. We think it's important for delegates to put what they have learned into practice. We like to include case studies and workshops so that they can do just that. We don't deliver law lectures unless we're asked to!

Here is a sample of topics that we're currently delivering training to clients on:

  • Recruitment skills.
  • Issuing and changing terms and conditions of employment.
  • Discrimination (in general and in specific areas).
  • Equal opportunities and dignity at work.
  • Diversity awareness.
  • Flexible working.
  • Bullying and harassment.
  • How to carry out an investigation.
  • Grievances, disciplinaries and dismissals.
  • Performance management.
  • How to carry out redundancies.
  • Sickness absence management.
  • People management skills.
  • TUPE.
  • How to avoid a Tribunal claim.
  • Employment law hot topics (an update session).

All our training is competitively priced. It's delivered by specialists who know exactly what you should and shouldn't be doing, the pitfalls to avoid and what happens if you get things wrong.

As well as our training, we can provide regular updates to clients to keep you fully informed of developments of relevance to you.
